Biography: |
| I love to paint and really enjoy the whole process of creating something that will tell others just exactly how I see and feel about the world around me. When I look at art I always look for something I haven't seen before and it is my hope that my work will allow others to see something new, even in familiar subjects. Painting is my way of connecting with others and showing them my view.
The majority of my work is inspired by nature and I am always humbled by the beauty and the power of the natural world. Lately I have been doing a lot of pictures of bears but also have a great fondness for landscape, birds and other animals. I have a passion for detail, shapes, line and color with most of my work being rather graphic and stylized. My favorite medium is acrylic especially the fluid acrylics and acrylic inks which allow for a beautiful untextured finish that shows a lot of detail.
I have a Certificate in Fine Arts from Emily Carr University and more informal education includes workshops at the Federation of Canadian Artists and courses at local Arts Centers. I am currently an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the Port Moody Artists Association. Other interests include illustration, book-making and creative writing. |
